From the very first moment I stepped foot on Cable Beach I was fascinated with the perfectly breaking waves on the beach. They certainly weren’t big, though people were surfing them with large surfboards, but they broke perfectly, and made great subjects.
I’ve taken a couple hundred shots of the waves up there but I really liked this one because there was just so much drama in the clouds. Also the overcast conditions really enhanced the beautiful colour of the water.
I genuinely really miss Cable Beach. There was nothing more relaxing than just wondering up and down the beach and capturing it in its many different moods. Someday we’ll catch up again.
I love Cable Beach in Broome. Awesome blue skies and beautiful green water sums it all up for me. On this particular day we decided not to go swimming as the lifeguards had spotted a 2M crocodile swimming up and down the beach and we thought it might not be too good for our health.
This shot was taken with the Canon 17mm TSE lens which seems to be able to create amazing skies out of almost nothing.
In this photo the tide was about halfway out and it certainly doesn’t take long for the tide to rise or fall up at Broome. It took a bit of getting used to the tides. The first two days I found spots I liked whilst the tide was rising thinking that I would have plenty of time to get a shot, when in actually fact I ended up at least 100M further back from where I expected to be!
I hope you guys like this shot. Let me know what you think of it.
