Point Perron Sunsets
Hey Crew,
Another favourite shot of mine, this time its Point Perron again and this time I actually standing over the ledge. Fortunately the waves were really small and didn’t have any strength in them so the camera was safe. Phew! I’ll definitely be heading back down there again soon as I managed to pull off at least three shots from this place in a matter of minutes that I was happy with.
Has anyone else shot down here at all? I know Stephen has.

Nice Jamie, I’ve often tried to get an image this way as all of mine have the same rock bombie in the background, but I’ve not managed anything I really liked.
love the rocks under the water, and the ledge leading along is nice. it is a cool spot hey. as i’ve said before…. my local beach. despite being 45min away haha

Nice shot indeed Jamie I have a good sunset from down there its a mind field of dream shots thats for sure I will be heading down that way myself again soon its just around the corner from a mates place so kills two birds with one stone :).

Thanks for that mate. You are so right, I spotted quite a few angles while I was down there and I can’t wait to hit it again. You’ll have to let me know when you’ve got some more photos from the Point. 🙂

Sounds like a plan Brett. If you’re after interesting seascapes for the competition then North Cottesloe and Bennion Beach would be good spots to check out as well.

Nice mate, when did you shoot this?
There were some really low tides last week when the full moon was around…low tide was about the time of sunset too so would have been some mega rocks out of the water i rekon!. I might have to get down there sometime when the tide is low and swell is small!
How you go with your shots from sat?

Hi Matt,
Shot this about 2mths ago I think. This area is fairly protected from Garden Island so swell isn’t always an issue here. Saturday, what can I say? You know how they always say don’t rely on Photoshop to fix obvious things that are wrong? I didn’t listen to that advice and made quite a few mistakes. 😦

Oh that is brilliant, I really like this Jamie. Great leading lines, really good composition and it has a mysterious look to it that keeps me staring, spellbound. Nice!

Hi Jamie,
I always thought Point Peron had potential, spent a few evenings down there 2 years ago but the mozzies got the better of me. Also, think I got a photo of your house yesterday?, got permission to go along the Canning so took heaps of pics of the Mount Pleasant area. Must say, the 24mm tilt/shift is 10 times better than any lens I’ve used – edge to edge sharpness no matter what aperture, my new favourite!

It most certainly does and the fact that its a point provides so many different angles for both sunrise and sunset. What more do we need? 🙂 After hearing about you and Mark talk about hte TSE lens, I’ve arranged to take one to Tassie and Sydney with me to try out. My house should be easy to spot, its the messy one.
