Last Light at Cottesloe

last light cottesloe beach seascape landscape photography

Hi Crew,

How shocking has the weather been of late?   Its been hard to try and get out and about to get any decent photos in this weather!    This photo was taken last summer, it was a beautiful evening, there were lots of people strolling up and down the beach, with quite a number of people also still swimming.  Just think only a few more months and we’ll be back to that lifestyle again.  Woo Hoo!   There is nothing like taking seascape photos on a warm summer’s evening down at the beach.

Camera Settings:

F11, ISO50, 10secs.

Lens – Canon 24-70mm F2.8

What is everyone elses’ favourite time of year to shoot?

Thanks and please feel free to comment,

Jamie Paterson

very true Jamie – a balmy summer evening with warm water is a lot more inviting to be out taking seascapes than freezing water and bitter SW’lies.
Nice colours in this one mate. 🙂

  2. Hi Tony,

Thanks for the comments on the colours. I really liked the water in this one. I’m hoping that this summer is a long hot one.

I am hearin’ ya brother…so over this dreary weather…can’t surf, can’t take photos and even the sex is getting boring…seeing as that is the only thing this weather is good for!!! 🙂

5 days till True North and the warm weather…can’t wait!!

    Cheers,

  4. Jamie, agree with the last comment on your post for sure… shame about daylight savings not being voted in though!

Hey Mark, you mustn’t be doing it right 🙂

  5. Hi Graham,

Appreciate the comment. I agree it sucks that daylight savings never made it through but that is spilt milk now. I loved those long evenings down at the beach.

  6. With all the rain clouds around, it can provide some interesting photo opportunities…although you need to ensure you avoid the rain 😉

I met up with some friends early on Saturday morning on the South Mole at Freo. We were hoping for an interesting sunrise, but the thick clouds in the east completely blocked any view of the rising sun.
However, we still managed to get some interesting shots of the port lights, and then went for a stroll along Victoria Quay.

  9. Hi Martin,

Let me know when you get the photos up on your blog, it will be good to have a look at them.

    Hi Stephen,

I’ve been holding off on the creeks as we have another week of rain. I will be hitting them shortly. 🙂

    Hi Flemming,

I’m not a desert person as I always need water to be near me. I found the Canning Stock Route almost tortue because I wasn’t near water.

  12. Hi Michael,

Thanks for the comment kind sir. I saw the colours had started to get some colour in them but didn’t get to see what happened with the sunset. The Simpsons got in the way. 😉
