Jamie Paterson – Images of Inspiration, Captivation, and Fascination

Response to Feedback – Meelup on the Flipside

I received a fair bit of feedback on this image mainly via emails and I really appreciate everyone taking the time out to help me.  That is what I love about our photography community we are always so helpful to one another.  So this image has been changed based on people’s feedback that I agree with.    Let me know what you think now.

Thanks for all the help.   🙂

I had a play with the image and boosted the water a bit more and reckon it looks pretty wickid.

    Hi Michael,

I tinkered with the idea of boosting the water but thought I’d play it ‘safe’. 🙂

    Hey Jamie.

Sorry i havent been on your blog or anyone elses for that matter for so long! My new cars novelty has worn off yet so i have been busy burning fuel!

I like the composition and the great gold colours of the foreground rocks, but feel a more attractive sky would top it off! Its just too bland for me! But im sure your more than happy to revisit such a awesome spot! 😉

I am just about to post a shot I got tonight!

    Cheers mate!

    Hi Dylan,

I would’ve loved to have a more decent sky and this is all I was presented with, so you are 100% correct each time I’m go back down south I’m going to keep hitting this place until I get it right (well until the light gets it right really). 🙂

Yeah haha! Photography can be very frustrating! Especially in Perth!
But you have this shot sorted, now mother nature needs to come up with the rest!

  8. Patience is a virtue. The 85mm is awesome I bought newish 2nd hand as Brendon and Paul at PRA had a play with it before I picked it up. Cheeky buggers. I saw the OZ in Focus in your blogroll last night but never clicked on it, I got my email from Beau today so now I know what it all about.

    Hi Michael,

It would be awesome to have you onboard Ozinfocus. Its a great way for all of us to increase our exposure to the world.

Dylan – What has happened to the light this summer? I remember last year you were spending nearly every night down at the beach capturing amazing photos.

Nice work on this version Jamie. The tones really compliment one another. I’m dying to get back down that way.

    Hi Luke,

Thanks for that. When are you heading down next? I reckon I’ll head back down again soon, but first I want to head up to Lancelin and do some sand dune shots.

I am unsure when exactly, hopefully in a few weeks time. We will see I suppose. Lancilin would be good, I have been meaning to get up there for a while too.

    Hi Luke,

Yes I think Lancelin is a definite goer. I think I will head up this Saturday afternoon for an evening shoot up there.
