Outback Sunset
This was the first sunset that I saw on my Canning Stock Route trip. We’d travelled 13hrs to get here and it was like an oasis in the outback. I was so excited when I saw this and rushed down to the water to take it, I didn’t even worry about setting up my tent first. This is what I love about the outback, the amazing sunsets and sunrises.

I was wondering when we would see more Canning shots, keep ’em coming!
There’s an outstanding sky and sunset behind the trees. For me the silhouetted trees dominate a bit too much. When they take up so much of the photo some more detail would be nice.
Human Spirit Level has had problems lately but I do believe the horizon is leaning a bit to the left but could just be the perspective in this case 🙂

I was never going to post this because of the silhouetted trees but my friend who was on the trip loved it so much and wanted it posted so much that I relented. Both he and a few of my other friends were blown away with this photo, yet I hate it. Its indvidual perspective isn’t? 🙂

I think it’s a pretty nice shot but I think I would ad a screen layer to the water to even it out a little.

I like the shot, though a detractor form myself is the ‘cut in half’ tree in the left of frame. One thing that I would love to know more about its story…permanent waterhole or recent rains etc.

You know I’m a little nuts so I took this image flipped it upside down and shit it looks the freakin same, what a stunning reflection Jamie we’ll spotted and captured. Have you tried a high contrast B&W ?

I’m just starting to work on the trip photos a little more. Most of it was fairly featureless so I’m struggling a little with interesting photos from the trip. Only Christian could drag something up from the Canning Stock Route. 😉

Thanks for stopping by. Its actually a permanent waterhole that the locals go to for camping. Its pretty big for that area.

Thanks for everyone comments. I have a second set of photos almost the same as above except it was later in the evening with more pinks in the sky. I’m going to take everyone’s suggestions and see if I can’t improve on it. I think there is a great shot hiding in there somewhere. 🙂
